Samantha Holmes Alpaca

Samantha Holmes Alpaca is a small bespoke Scottish company that specialises in creating soft cosy alpaca clothing, accessories and homewares. Each item is designed by Samantha in Scotland and beautifully made and hand-finished by specialist artisans in Peru and Bolivia in butter soft alpaca wool.

Alpaca wool is soft, durable, and silky. The fibers are similar in size to Merino wool, but they are mostly hollow, whereas sheep's wool has pockets of air. It is the air pockets that trap heat, so alpaca fleece can be perceived as being warmer than Merino. Alpca fibers are generally longer than merino or cashmere fibers and thus are considered more durable and less prone to pilling.
